BCN: A Dream Come True

Barcelona is a city that I have dreamed about visiting for years. The architecture, the beaches, the culture, the food, everything. I think the Sagrada Familia was the biggest influence in my desire to go to Barcelona. My love for cathedrals and the intricate design of this one in particular drew me in. I landed in Barcelona around 9pm on October 31st. I went to an English pub near my hostel where I made friends with the bartender from Lithuania. She came to the city for love, que mona!!! I stayed for a few drinks and got a burger then headed back to my hostel for the night.

I started my morning off at Creps Barcelona. I had the biggest crepe I have ever seen, Nutella and strawberries. It was so good and there was also a pretty view.

Here are some pictures of my walk to the Sagrada Familia Thursday morning.

The Alpha, the reason for my travels, The Sagrada Familia. It is honestly shorter than I was expecting, but so so much more intricate than any picture can show. These images are just of the outside of the Cathedral. I bought tickets ahead of time and went in for my tour at 10:45am.

The inside. The stained glass was amazing and designed with so much intention. There really are not words to sufficiently describe the beauty of this place.

There was a small museum area below the cathedral and an area on the side that displayed other historical pieces.

Jesus and Home. These are the exit doors to the Sagrada Familia.

My next stop for the day was Park Güell, the work of Gaudi.

The views of the city in the park were jaw dropping.

The beachhhhh!

The Aquarium in Barcelona. It was only a 20 euro entrance so it was quite affordable. Also, it still had some Halloween decorations up if you can spot those.

This concludes my time in Barcelona. I went back to my hostel and tried to get some sleep before I headed to the airport at 5am Friday morning for Geneva. Barcelona is a city I will never forget and I hope I will be able to return to it. It is such a big city and there is still so much for me to explore. I definitely want to return during the summer and spend a few days at the beach.

My next blog will be about Geneva, where I spent the rest of my weekend with Alexis. It should hopefully be up in the next week! Besos.
