Mountains of Monachil

Monachil is a little town on the outskirts of Granada, home to some great hiking trails. Allison, Courtney, and I took a bus from Granada to Monachil one weekend in November. I think the ride was about fifteen minutes and the trail we took was only a moderate uphill walk from the bus stop even though we started walking in the wrong direction at first.

A little creek we found while we were headed in the wrong direction.

I know we went on one of the Cahorros trails but cannot remember if it was altos or bajos.

The best pictures I was able to capture on the trail. That bridge was much longer than it appears. I will upload a few videos again on my Instagram and link them here.

Shoutout to Court for her awesome photography skills. 🙂

I wish we would have found this town earlier during our stay in Granada. This was the only time I could make it but I think Ally and Court made it at least one more time. I would have loved to try out the other trails. Hiking is one of my favorite outdoors activities! No hiking for me right now partly due to quarantine and partly due to back surgery. Although, once I am able to you can find me on the trails here in Southern Illinois.

Stay safe & healthy out there!
