In early November Alexis was able to come to Granada to visit me for a few days! I sadly do not have many pictures from this weekend but I will go ahead and upload the few that I have. We did a lot of shopping, eating, and sight seeing while she was in town.
I was able to introduce Alexis to one of my favorite things about Spain, tinto de verano. Think Sangria but sweeter. Comparable to Starview’s wine slushie but on the rocks ;). We are pictured at one of the restaurants my friends and I frequented, 100 Montaditos. Upon research to find the name of the restaurant, I discovered that they have a few restaurants in Miami, FL so who is down for a trip?? You can take a look at the menu here.
Some different views of the Granada Cathedral. Stunning.
We trekked up to one of the lookouts at the top of the city to see a little bit of La Alhambra.
The first picture depicts how many of the streets look in Spain. I love all of the plants hanging from the windows. The second picture shows my daily walk to school and popular shops. They had already hung Christmas lights but did not light them until December.
The four stages of trying to get a good picture when the sun is too bright. These were taken in the park behind my house in Granada.
Another picture in the park behind my house and at a little food shop across the street from my house where we both had smoothies. Lastly, is our biggest adventure of the weekend..
Tattoos!!! This is mine and Lex’s second time getting tattoos together. The tattoo shop was right down the street from me and a badass woman did them for us. The mountain ranges have a few different meanings. 1. Faith can move mountains. 2. From Tim McGraw’s song Humble and Kind, “I know you got mountains to climb but always stay humble and kind.” 3. I was surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Granada. The tattoo serves as a reminder to be a good human and to look back on my time abroad every now and then.
This was the last time Alexis and I were able to see each other while abroad. I am so thankful we were in Europe at the same time and made so many memories together. She was the little piece of home I needed every few weeks while in Europe.
Until next time,
