I have been in Granada for a little over a week, wow. Honestly it feels like it has been longer than that, but I think this is because I have not been in class and we had a lot of free time. I spent most of this time shopping and eating. Are you surprised? I mean c’mon you all saw what I brought here. I had to buy more clothes and shoes. The featured image above and on my homepage is of the cathedral in the city. My first night here my host mom took me on a walk to show me around the city and they were having a festival at the time so that is why there are so many people standing around.
These are photos from our walk around the town on Monday with ISA. The top right and center are at plaza Isabel la Catolica. This is our meeting point for most tours with ISA. The statue on the fountain is Queen Isabel and Christopher Columbus.
This is my school. No big deal.
Plaza Nueva and its surrounding buildings. This is on the way to the Flamenco show we went to Tuesday night. It is also on the way to the Albaicin which I will be making a separate post about after this one hopefully!
More views. The castle at the top of the hill is the Alhambra which we are visiting on Friday. It looks amazing from down here. I cannot wait to see it up close.
The Flamenco show was in a cave so that was sorta cool. I am not able to post videos of the dances but I might upload some to Instagram or Facebook. This was such an awesome experience and a great show of the culture of Granada.

These are my pretty amigas. Left to right, McAlister, Allison, and Courtney.
After the Flamenco show we ate at Plaza Nueva in a restaurant called Plaza Nueva. This place was SO good. I had spaghetti carbonara. I have never had it in the states but I would guess that it was better than any place in America. They sold pitchers of sangria for 9 euros so they won me over. Also I had tiramisu for dessert but forgot to take a picture sorry!!

Do I look like I’m straining? I was squatting and my legs were shaking. Despite all of the walking I do here I am still out of shape.
Court is my go to photographer here. She has portrait mode. I am wearing my new jumper I bought from Bershka, our favorite store in Granada thus far.
These are all of the photos I have to share from my first week in this blog. I intend to make blogs about the Albaicin and our outing on Saturday.
My host family is awesome and I am surrounded by a great group of people. Today was my first day of classes. I had Spanish Art History and Spanish Grammar. I have the same professor for today’s classes and two of my classes tomorrow. She is great though so I am excited. Tomorrow’s classes consist of Spanish Literature, Spanish Oral and Written Production, and Islamic Culture in Spain. Friday we tour the Alhambra and I am considering flying to Amsterdam for the weekend. I should have another blog or two up this week as well! Until then, hasta luego!
